Aerial Vehicle Autonomous Anchoring and Powering System (AVAAPS)
The patent pending Aerial Vehicle Autonomous Anchoring and Powering System (AVAAPS) technology will automatically and autonomously anchor and connect electric power to future, fully autonomous Vertical Take Off and Landing (VTOL) Aerial Vehicles (AVs) immediately upon landing, and automatically and autonomously un-anchor them and disconnect power upon takeoff. It keeps them from blowing off parking pads in high winds (especially elevated parking pads), and provides electrical power throughout the time they are parked. The AVAAPS eliminates the need for manual systems or tasks, facilitates safe loading/unloading of cargo and passengers, reduces risks of injury and death to personnel, and reduces risks of damage to other aircraft, property, equipment and infrastructure. The AVAAPS is a multi-use product, suitable for commercial, military/government, and private applications. It is scalable, both larger and smaller, but one standard size and one power configuration is required for all parking garages and all VTOL AVs using the system, regardless of manufacturer . The AVAAPS will be essential to providing safe and reliable fully autonomous VTOL AV operations, within a future, national, standardized, networked Autonomous Transportation System (ATS).
